Volunteering

We are all volunteers on the FMPS School Council and we depend on other volunteers to help us make our programs a success. Volunteering is not only good for our school and community but we are each rewarded in our own special way, whether it’s knowing you’ve helped make a difference or even gained some practical experience to further your own goals.  Please consider volunteering or donating!

How to get involved?

Stay informed! - Email us:  [email protected]
- Check out our website: https://farleymowatps.ocdsb.ca/school_council

Attend a school council meeting - Have your voice heard or just listen to what's going on - Talk with your teacher or staff and ask how I can contribute

Become a member of the school council (run by parent volunteers) - Most positions are filled in September (at 1st council meeting) - Become a trainee with a council member to back-up or fill for next year's role

Help out with pizza days or other hot lunch programs

- Just only an hour and half a week

- Help out on demand or on a weekly basis

Work on a committee or help out on event day

- Smaller groups led by a council member to plan and run specific program/event

- Ask the school council whether there is an active committee
- More volunteers are usually needed on the day with preparation, running stations or clean up

Volunteer in the classroom or within our school

- Work with your child's teacher to volunteer on a regular basis (no police check required for parents)

- Answer your teacher's call for donations (supplies, etc) or for volunteers (workshops/field trips)
- Other volunteer opportunities and free police check at https://onfe-rope.ca/

- Around the school: other classrooms, display setup or library
